UNKNOWN PLEASURES : DOWNDIME

If you hear the two words "indie" and "Leeds" then you automatically combine that to The Wedding Present.
Well, perhaps that could change in a few years if Downdime can handle the quality they're releasing now as they make fuzzy power indiepop (whatever that might be!) but with a deeper undertone.
Most of their songs are dominated by an organsound that drives the happy songs in a rather dark direction.
There's also a healthy contradiction between the music which is undeniable British to the bone while the vocals are more in the Sparklehorse-areas.
You see, it's difficult to pigeonhole Downdime and that already says enough about the quality of the music. A band to follow!
